“archive” is a short film I made in my first year at the National Film & Television School (2016).

“archive” is inspired by the consequences of war looking at the impact of armed conflict on people’s lives through their personal objects.  Inspired by the Imperial War Museum’s collections of WWII cutlery and scarves, “archive” tells the story of a family through their personal objects.  Shot throughout in natural light using pixilation animation, the film explores themes of memory and family through the inherent history and stories carried by objects from the archive of a family’s belongings.

“archive” is currently being submitted for consideration at festivals and will be available online soon.  Stills can be seen below.

Credits: directed and animated by Katia Lom, edited by Patrick Miles Widdop, sound score by Louise Burton
